The Natural Gas Foundation has created this website for its First Export Program. A program that provides free and specialized advise on Foreign Trade to industry-wide small and medium sized companies throughout the country so as to encourage them to start exporting their products. This program also includes a number of introductory workshops and conferences on exports.

The Company: Gas Natural BAN     

On December 28, 1992, Gas Natural BAN obtained a license to provide the natural gas distribution public utility service in the northern area of the province of Buenos Aires, for a 35-year term, renewable for 10 years. The service area, of around 15,000 km2, comprises 30 districts of the province, located to the north and west of the city of Buenos Aires, capital of the Argentine Republic.

Gas Natural BAN is the leading gas distributor of the country in terms of customer portfolio growth and ranks second as far as the number of customers is concerned. It has an important residential – business market share and supplies industries and GNC gas stations.
 
The company’s distribution area comprises one of the most densely populated areas of the country, with more than 6 million inhabitants and concentrating large urban conglomerates and important industrial parks. One out of five natural gas users in Argentina is a Gas Natural BAN user.

Natural Gas Foundation.

The Natural Gas Foundation is a non profit organization that belongs to the Gas Natural Group, and as such is present in all the countries in which this energy group operates:

  • Portugal
  • Morocco

The main purpose of this Foundation is to encourage values and actions aimed at improving the population’s life quality and taking care of the environment by being an instrument to reinforce the Group’s corporate strategy, in relation to the concepts of corporate social accountability and sustainable development, as well as becoming a benchmark for issues related to the environment, particularly those concerning energy.

In Argentina, the Foundation has conducted, together with the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Ambientales (FLACAM), a cholera prevention project in the border area between this country and Bolivia, which has enabled to significantly reduce the impact of this disease on the Argentine-Bolivian border.

Furthermore, the Foundation, jointly with FLACAM, grants scholarships to graduate students from Latin-American countries, training them in environmental issues.

In May 2001 the Foundation and Gas Natural BAN launched the First Export Program to provide free and specialized advise on Foreign Trade to small and medium sized companies throughout the country.
